Bayern and Davies at war over Madrid’s interest as Nasri advises Mbappe to stay at PSG

The relationship between Alphonso Davies a target of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, the German champions is not going through its best moment, a fact that will facilitate his departure next summer.

Signing Davies is becoming more and more important for Real Madrid with each day that passes. As AS has reported on a number of occasions, the Canadian is the chief target to reinforce the left-back position next season and the club has already established initial contact with the 23-year-old’s agent. In contrast to what is currently happening in Munich, where the full-back’s representative has not had contact with the management of the six-time European champions for quite some time. As things stand, no progress has been made regarding the renewal of his contract, which is due to expire in June 2025 - and the possibility of that happening seems further away than ever.

The situation has been reported in the national press with the German newspaper Bild suggesting that in the back offices of the Allianz Arena, Bayern bigwigs are not too happy with Nedal Huoseh’s behavior.

The agent and close friend of the Davies family was the one who encouraged rumors about his client’s possible departure last summer. In an interview with the Canadian website The Sports Network, he went as far as saying: “There are a number of clubs that are after Davies...”

In a chat with transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano in June, he added: “We are taking our time to see how things develop. Right now, we haven’t made any final decisions on anything. Real Madrid is a big club. I have always been a fan of the club - as a [football] fan, in general. When you have an athlete, like Alphonso, that you manage - not to take anything away from Bayern Munich, they are a big club, there are five big ones on the globe and Bayern definitely is one of those clubs, look bad. There are five big clubs in the world and Bayern is one of them. But Real Madrid is a big name, a big brand, 14 Champions Leagues… I mean, when you hear the rumors that they’re interested in a player you manage, it makes you proud”.

Elsewhere, a day after Real Madrid released a statement denying the rumours that they were negotiating with PSG forward Kylian Mbappé, ex-footballer Samir Nasri has come out and said in an interview that the attacker should indeed remain where he is and not go to Spain in 2024.

Now a commentator for French TV channel Canal+, the former Arsenal player said in an interview with Journal du Dimanche that, in put in Mbappé's situation, whose contract expires on June 30, Nasri would choose to stay at PSG instead of signing for the 14-time European champions.

‘In his shoes, I would stay at PSG’ says Nasri

“If he leaves, he will leave a gap [in the budget], but with the money [PSG] will be able to sign other players - who will not be Mbappé, that is obvious. But today he is so important, whether in the French national team or at his club. Two years ago I said that he was the best player in the world and I still believe it”, said the former Manchester City player.

“I have always expressed my feelings”, he continued, “he is from the Paris region,

and in his shoes I would stay at PSG. Instead of going to Madrid, winning their 15th Champions League... PSG have never won it. If Olympique Marseille (Nasri’s hometown club) had been owned by Qatar when I was there, I would never have left. I think it is better to be the king of your people,” Nasri told Le Journal du Dimanche.

After breaking through at Marseille, Nasri played for a variety of clubs including Arsenal, Manchester City, Sevilla, West Ham, and Anderlecht.
