Al Shabab fans drew Ronaldo’s ire by chanting "Messi"

Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo lost control and hit back at Al Shabab fans, who were giving him stick all game in a thrilling 3-2 victory for Al Nassr FC in the Saudi Pro League.

It was the name of Lionel Messi that seemed to set Ronaldo off, as he made an inappropriate hand gesture toward the fans who chanted the Argentine's name to mock his old rival.

Ronaldo had the last laugh when Anderson Talisca found the back of the net in the 86th minute to give Al Nassr the win in front of the rowdy crowd. The former Real Madrid striker channeled his old cross-town rival, Diego Simeone, with another obscene gesture toward the home fans as he ran off to celebrate Talisca's winner.

Ronaldo keeps Al Nassr in the hunt for trophies with his goals

The 39-year-old scored a penalty kick in the first half to open the scoring, marking the 877th goal of his storied career. It also moved him one win away from his 800th career win.

Al Shabab trailed twice in the match but got themselves back level each time before Talisca got the eventual winner.

CR7 has scored in all of Al Nassr's competitive matches in 2024, but his team still trails Al Hilal, which has a game in hand, by four points in the title race. The Riyadh club is also still in contention for the AFC Champions League trophy, with the quarterfinals kicking off on March 4th.
