Afcon 2024: Peseiro in Uyo, Eagles arrive Wednesday, Algeria officials to officiate Sao-Tome match

Super Eagles Coach, Jose Peseiro and his assistants have arrived ahead Cote d’ Ivore 2024 Afcon qualifying match between the Super Eagles and Sao Tome, Principle, though Nigeria has qualified for the championship.

They were received by the Akwa Ibom state government delegation before they visited the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium where the match will be played.

Recall, the state government on Monday, held a technical meeting being part of government efforts to put together a hitch-free football match.

The camp will open on Wednesday and the invited players are expected to report to camp the same day.

The trio of Victor Boniface, Gift Orban, and Jordan Torunarigha got their first call-up while Tyronne Ebuehi and Jamilu Collins returned to the team.

Also, the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, Wilfred Ndidi, William Troost-Ekong, and Samuel Chukwueze are among the players invited.

Meanwhile, Caf has announced that Algerian referee Lahlou Benbraham will be in the centre when Nigeria hosts Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday.

Benbraham will be assisted by his compatriots Brahim El Hamlaoui Sid Ali (Assistant Referee 1) and Mohammed Serradj (Assistant Referee 2).

Another Algerian, Nabil Boukhalfa will serve as the fourth official while Prosper Addo from Ghana will be the match commissioner.
