It was jubilation galore, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Lagos on Wednesday afternoon the venue of the 2023 Lagos State Football Association Election after Fouad Oki Ade defeated Tade Azeez to emerge as the new Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, LSFA with a vote of 13-1. 


It was a similar landslide outcome in the Vice Chairman election as the man of the people, Alhaji Liameed Gafar aka 36 Lion defeated Dotun Coker 10-4.  

It was a victorious end for the duo who have to cross many hurdles placed in their path as they aspire for the post in the days leading to the election.


Fouad and 36 Lion are the choices of many football stakeholders in the state but their fate is in resided in the hands of the electoral committee and the lean 14 delegates with the voting power.

 
The duo was nearly disqualified by the electoral committee after many forth and back, but sanity later prevailed and they were eventually cleared to contest the election.

Football stakeholders can't have their joy after the outcome of the election as the MJ Arena was turned into a carnival ground, celebrating the victory of Oki and Lameed Gafar.

It is a new dawn for Lagos State Football as a new face will be at the helms of affairs for the first time in 12 years, Fouad Oki Ade will take over from Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi who step down after completing three terms as the Chairman of the State Football Association.
