In form Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen who has attracted the interest of the biggest clubs in Europe top leagues may be sold by Napoli because they need to balance their book.

Napoli recently slammed a Euro 100 million on Osimhen amidst interest for Manchester United, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Newcastle.

Italian agent Alessandro Moggi admits Napoli ‘must keep an eye’ on their finances in the summer but would be able to replace Osimhen if he joins Manchester United or Real Madrid.

Real Madrid has targeted both Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland, but Osimhen has emerged as an alternative to the Norway international.

Scorer of 11 goals in 22 games across all competitions this term, Osimhen is one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe.

“I think a lot of top European clubs are interested in signing him, he has already proved his qualities,” Moggi told Radio Marte (via Calciomercato.com).

It’s worth noticing that Moggi is not part of Osimhen’s entourage but is the agent of many other Serie A players, including Lazio and Italy striker Ciro Immobile.

“It remains to be seen if Napoli will sell Osimhen. Surely they have already proved to be able to replace big players they sold in the past,” Moggi, the son of former Juventus director Luciano, added.

According to Rai Sport, Aurelio De Laurentiis will only sell Osimhen for a fee close to €100m.

Kalidou Koulibaly is another Napoli star linked with a move abroad, but the Senegal international is reportedly discussing a contract extension at the Stadio Maradona. His contract expires in June 2023.

“It’s a complicated situation, look at how it ended up with Lorenzo Insigne,” continued Moggi.

“There is always the risk of receiving big offers and it appears clear to me that Napoli must keep an eye on their finances.”
