According to reports, Everton and Aston Villa will battle it out to sign Nigeria-born Roma striker Tammy Abraham during the summer transfer window.

Both Everton and Aston Villa tried to sign Abraham during the January window but had their offers rejected by the Serie A side.

The 25-year-old has also been linked with Manchester United as Erik ten Hag is eager to secure the services of a striker this summer.

However, Roma have attached a £67million price tag to Abraham to match the value of the buy-back clause Chelsea have for the striker - according to Inews.

The 25-year-old's prior experience of playing in the Premier League could prove to be useful for those interested in his services.

The England striker scored 30 goals in 82 appearances for Chelsea after working his way into the first team after plying his trade in the youth ranks at the club.

United boss Erik ten Hag is eager to sign a high-profile striker in the summer transfer window with his squad relying heavily on Marcus Rashford for goals this season.

Abraham would be a beneficial signing for Everton, should they avoid relegation this season. Sean Dyche is eager to rebuild the club and fill the void left by Richarlison's departure last year.

Dyche also needed more depth in his attacking line given Dominic Calvert-Lewin's on going injury issues during the 2022-2023 campaign.

Therefore, Abraham's goal-scoring prowess could benefit Dyche's goal of turning the Toffees into a reputable Premier League team.

Plus, owner Farhad Moshiri has already committed to purchasing a striker in the summer transfer window and stumped up the funds by selling Anthony Gordon.

However, Everton will have to battle it out with Aston Villa to sign Abraham as Unai Emery is a long-term admirer of the 25-year-old.

Abraham was also linked with a return to Chelsea earlier this week - with Football Insider saying Graham Potter is 'desperate for a new out-and-out striker' this summer
