English Premier League side Southampton are interested in signing Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo, who is refusing to sign a new contract with the club according to talkSPORT.

The Nigeria international has entered the final 12 months of his deal at Ibrox after scoring nine goals and registering nine assists in 49 appearances for the club in the 2021/22 season.

But as interest continues to mount in the 25-year-old attacking midfielder, Southampton have emerged as the latest club to show interest in taking him to England.

Rangers have been keen to keep Aribo at the club after he established himself as a key member of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side after the Dutch coach took over from Steven Gerrard.

Rangers fans see Aribo’s imminent move to England has being disloyal “After everything that Rangers have done for Aribo since bringing him over from Charlton, the least he can do is stay respectful while he’s employed here.If he doesn’t want to sign a new deal that’s fair enough and he is entitled to leave for free next summer if that’s the route he chooses to take.” Said a fan.

Southampton hope to fend off competition from Forest and Fulham for Aribo.
