Israel Adesanya names conditions for Alex Pereira rematch

UFC champion Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira have had a long time feud well before fighting each other in the UFC.

The last bout marked the first time Adesanya was able to overcome his rival and earn back the middleweight belt.

Since then, Pereira has decided to move up to the lightheavyweight division where he’s set up to face off against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 291 in late July.

However, during a sit down interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Israel Adesanya was asked if he thinks he’ll ever fight Alex Pereira ever again.

At first, the middleweight champ quickly said “no.” But, throughout the conversation, Adesanya hinted that if Pereira were to become the lightheavyweight champion, then he’d consider it.

Wouldn’t that be something? These two bring it every time they face off anyway. But if Pereira becomes the champ at 205 pounds, it sounds like Adesanya would be interested in attempting to become a double champ once again.

As exciting as that sounds, there is no guarantee it’ll happen. Alex Pereira must first win the lightheavyweight belt, which is no easy feat.

Especially considering he’s going up against the former champ a month from now in Blachowicz.

It’ll be interesting to see how Pereira pans out in a bigger weight class. He was insanely massive for the 185 division, so his size should be more balanced out at 205.

His power should make him a dangerous foe no matter who he takes one.

Meanwhile, Adesanya awaits to face off against the winner Robert Whittaker and Dricus Du Plessis.

With that said, keep an eye on both Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira, as there is a chance their paths cross again.
