Former African champion Olufunke Oshonaike is in a celebratory mood after coming out alive from a recent car accident that happened at her base in Germany.

Oshonaike expressed gratitude to God for sparing her life and giving her another chance to see her kids and do other things she longs for.

The renowned table tennis legend wrote on her Facebook wall:  " What can I say or write. I am still in pain, shock and traumatized! Thank God that no RIP is written on my picture.

"Thank you, God, for giving me another chance to live, for making me see my kids again.
"Though my new baby car got destroyed completely, but God saved me.
"I know that He will stop all these storms in my life that didn’t take my life away now and give me back my real laughter soon.
"I know He will sure surprise me and bless me more soon. I will forever be grateful to God for saving me"

Oshonaike was inducted by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) into the exclusive club of seven-time Olympians known as ‘Club 7’ during the last games in Tokyo

Oshonaike is the first female table tennis player in the world and the first female athlete in Africa ever to attend seven Olympic Games.
