" You just won a battle, not a war" Shaibu charges Bendel Insurance ahead of ASO's return leg

Edo State, Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu has charged Bendel Insurance not to relent on their effort despite claiming a 1-0 victory over ASO Chelef in the CAF Confederation Cup played on Saturday in Benin. 

The man freely refer to as the face of Bendel Insurance by his admirers, proved that his dedication and love for Bendel Insurance knows no boundaries, despite his absence from the venue of the match on Saturday.

The tension-soaked match at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium saw both teams separated by Imade Osarenkhoe's 42nd-minute strike to the delight of the capacity crowd at the stadium.

Though Bendel Insurance won the first leg of the encounter, the majority opinion is that the Benin-based team has a lot to do in the return leg in Algeria. 

This same sentiment was shared by Shuaibu via his Facebook page. 

The Deputy Governor congratulated the team and on the hard-fought victory in the first leg charge them to remain focused on the task ahead as the job is only half done after the first leg.

The Deputy Governor wrote:

“With a grateful heart to God, I’m happy to see our dear Warriors excel today in the match against ASO Chlef.”

“It wasn’t an easy encounter with the Algerian Cup winners, but our boys showed resilience and proved that they are not pushovers.”

“We have only won the battle, not the war, so I will be there to support you for the second leg of next week.”

“Go for the victory next week, guys, go and do the Great Edo Proud,”  Shaibu concluded.
