After initial boycott of training for non-payment of entitlements, Super Falcons are set for the 3rd place encounter against Copper Queens of Zambia.

The girls had only one training session Thursday night for the match billed for Casablanca.

Both teams will battle for third position at the 2022 Women’s Africa Women’s Cup at the Stade Mohamed V, Casablanca.

The Super Falcons will play Zambia  without captain Onome Ebi  who is said to be injured.

Ebi suffered a hamstring injury in the semi-final defeat to Morocco on Monday.

The duo of Halimat Ayinde and Rasheedat Ajibade will also miss the game against the Zambians through suspension.

Ayinde and Ajibade were sent off against the Atlas Lionesses.

The team informed that training will hold later today adding ‘”We will train by 7-8pm today at the Stade El Bechir, Mohammedia ahead of tomorrow’s WAFCON 2022 third place match against Zambia. First 15 minutes open to the media”

Football followers are optimistic that the Falcons will win Friday’s match. They argued that the bronze medal will compensate for the match against Morocco in which they robbed through biased officiating.

‘’ the officiating in the match against Morocco is one of the reasons why Africans are rarely called to officiate at the global level it was a disaster, The Super Falcons were clearly robbed and the referee was not even queried, similar thing happened in the semi-final match between South Africa and Zambia. Its shameful’’ said Musa Haruna a Super Falcons supporter.

Meanwhile head coach, Randy Waldrum, has insisted his side will go all out for a win against the Shepolopolo of Zambia on Friday.

“We have two players suspended as a result of red cards in the last game, and we also have some players down with injury,” Waldrum said Thursday evening at the pre match press conference.”

“So, there will be changes but we will go for the best legs that would give us victory on Friday.”
