The UEFA Champions League returns this week, offering thrilling fixtures as teams strive to assert their dominance on Europe’s grandest stage.

Among the players eager to make an impact is Nigerian striker Victor Olatunji, who represents Czech champions Sparta Prague.

Olatunji is gearing up for two high-profile matches: a test against Serie A giants Inter Milan and a crucial encounter with Bayer Leverkusen, home to fellow Nigerian forward Victor Boniface.

Speaking to TVC News, Olatunji shared his excitement about the challenges ahead while reflecting on his journey so far in the competition.

"The games will be tough," Olatunji acknowledged, but remained confident in his ability to build on his impressive four-goal tally in this season's tournament.

"Playing against teams like Bayer Leverkusen, where Victor Boniface is, is special," he said. "Two Victors from Nigeria going head-to-head—it’s a dream match. These are the moments I live for, to prove myself on the biggest stage. It will be a great game for us."

Nigerian fans are already buzzing about the prospect of Olatunji, Boniface, and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen forming a formidable attacking trio for the Super Eagles in the near future.

For Olatunji, the Champions League is more than just a competition—it’s the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

"It’s an incredible experience," he said. "Facing top clubs and players, feeling the pressure, and thriving in it—I love every part of it. Getting here has required immense dedication and hard work, and I’m grateful to be part of this journey."

The striker also revealed his deep admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo, calling the Portuguese legend his inspiration.

"My role model is Cristiano Ronaldo," Olatunji said. "It’s not just about how he looks but how he plays, his mentality, and his drive to be the best. I want to emulate that same level of dedication and strength in my career."

Olatunji has even adopted Ronaldo’s iconic celebration, leaping into the air and shouting "si!" in celebration of his goals.

As Sparta Prague prepares for a decisive clash against Inter Milan on Wednesday, Olatunji will be aiming to leave his mark and help his team secure crucial points.

His determination and talent could be the key to Sparta Prague’s progress in this season’s Champions League campaign.
