Usyk doubts Fury's retirement and ponders two bouts before hanging gloves

Ring, WBC, WBO, WBA, IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk expects his division rival, Tyson Fury, to come out of retirement at some point.

Fury lost back-to-back decisions to Usyk, with the most recent defeat taking place last December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

"Hi everybody, I'll make this short and sweet, I'd like to announce my retirement from boxing, I've loved every single minute of it," Fury said. “I'm going to end with this: Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless everybody, I'll see you on the other side."

It wasn't the first time where Fury vowed to walk away from boxing - only to reverse his decision and return to the ring. Fury announced his retirement on at least three other occasions.

"I don't think about it but I think it is not true," Usyk told Talk Sport. "Once Tyson has relaxed, and rested, maybe Tyson will be back. Boxing if you do this for a long time: 10, 15, 20, 25 years then boxing is like a drug. If you don't go to training one day then you feel dead. For me, at least.

"I train every day. I don't do boxing every day. Sometimes I do CrossFit and running training. I only do boxing when I am in my camp.

Usyk reveals he has only two fights left until retirement, “Just two”

Usyk has shifted his attention to fighting the winner of Daniel Dubois vs. Joseph Parker later this year. Those two are set to collide over IBF gold later this month in Saudi Arabia.

However, ‘The Cat’ isn’t planning on much more beyond that. Speaking in a recent interview with Sky Sports, the 38-year-old heavyweight was asked about his time left in the sport. Given his age, and fight miles, the question wasn’t a surprise. Oleksandr Usyk responded that he only sees himself fighting two more times in total.
