Nigeria born UFC Champion Kamaru Usman has sent Conor McGregor a chilling warning over their potential fight later this year.

McGregor is preparing to make his anticipated UFC return and has his eyes on a fight with 'The Nigerian Nightmare'.

However, Usman has advised 'The Notorious' that it would not end well for him if the two were to face off in the octagon.

"Conor is in a state of his life to the position to where he's just all about talk," Usman told SPORTBible.

"It's just all talk, all talk. And I don't want to be in that position. He's a big enough star, yes, of course, that would be great. That's a quick challenge.

"But I just don't think it's good for him. The way that he approaches the game, and it's not good for him to take the type of beating that he would take from me. It's not great for him."

The UFC weltwerweight king is also looking beyond the MMA world for opponents in the future, and he teased a potential fight with Canelo Alvarez.

When asked about facing Canelo in the ring, Usman stated that he would be up for the challenge.

"Yes! I believe it can for sure," he said.

"If there's a right amount. If it makes money for the company. If it makes dollars, it makes sense," he said.

The 34-year-old went on to add that although he is interested in getting into boxing, he is unconvinced at the idea of fighting Jake Paul.

"Jake Paul doesn't equate to money," he said.

Dana White thinks Usman shouldn't want to fight Canelo

"Jake Paul equates to eyes, yes, of course you get eyes on you because all these kids and the new age that follow him.

"But his last three fights combined didn't do my pay-per-view numbers for my last fight, so if he can't guarantee me eight figures there's no point in even talking to me about it."
