The Super Eagles of Nigeria landed in Abuja Monday night on a chartered flight after a disappointing campaign at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
The players, backroom staff, selected journalists, and supporters club members sneaked into Abuja on Monday night aboard Air Peace after Nigeria crashed out in the second rounds of the tournament.
Nigeria lost 1-0 to The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on Sunday night following a 48th minutes strike from Yousef Mskani which the Nigeria national team never recovered from.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick had snubbed the team after the game and flew back to Nigeria immediately after the team lost to Tunisia on Sunday.
At this juncture, Portuguese-born gaffer, Jose Paseiro is expected to bark out orders to Super Eagles players from the touchline when Nigeria faces Ghana in the Qatar 2022 World Cup playoffs in March.
Meanwhile, the foreign-based stars are expected back at their respective clubs and could be in line for starting line-up up in this weekend league matches.
