The future of Watford's Emmanuel Dennis is in the spotlight this summer amid links with Southampton and other Premier League clubs.

Southampton are one of several clubs to have been linked with a move for the Watford forward, who scored ten goals and provided five assists as the Hornets were relegated from the Premier League.

West Ham and Fulham have also been named as potential suitors for the 24-year-old, who impressed at times during the 2021/22 season with his pace, directness and ability to score goals in a struggling side.

Following Watford's relegation, it is expected that the Nigerian will move on from Vicarage Road this summer, with Dennis one of the Hornets' more saleable assets, along with Ismaila Sarr.

But The Athletic report that there have been no official bids made as yet for Dennis, with Watford reported to be waiting for offers to be tabled, but anticipating a deal to be done for the forward to depart.

According to the report, one of Dennis' representatives has said that West Ham, Southampton and Fulham are among five teams considering a move for the forward this summer, with it stated that staying in the Premier League is a preferred option.

However, any move for the forward is likely to have to wait until after he has finished his international duty with Nigeria, who are due to face Sao Tome and Principe in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on Monday (June 13).

Indeed, with no current bids on the table for Dennis, a move is not imminent, although The Athletic's report suggests that Watford and the player would prefer a deal to be done before the start of pre-season training later this month. However, Dennis is not expected back for pre-season training until one week after most of his team-mates who have not been on international duty.
