Smart City Football Club of Lagos rules NPFL clubs In Valuejet pre-season tournament, tops group

Smart City Football Club of Lagos came out tops in their group after ruling NPFL teams, and brutalising Ottasolo FC 3-1 on Wednesday in their final group game to qualify for the Semi Final of the ongoing Valuejet pre-season tournament, taking place at Remo Stars Stadium Ikenne, Ogun state. 

The City had earlier held current NPFL champions, Rivers United, Kwara United and Gateway FC to a standstill, as the games ended in draws. 

The newly promoted NNL team needed an outright victory in their last game against Ottasolo FC of Lagos and did not disappoint, as they gave Ottasolo some bitter pills to swallow with a crushing 3-1 resounding victory. 

Smart City Football Club of Lagos assistant coach, Rasheed Jimoh, said, after the game that, he is very pleased with his lad's display, while also anticipating a very beautiful semi-final against Vanderezzer today. 

"My boys have displayed some real palatable football in this tournament and I am pleased with their performances since the start of the tournament," he said. 

"Our attention is now on the game against Vandrezza, we will give them a good game and by the grace of God, we will achieve victory" he concluded. 

 Smart City Football Club of Lagos will today face Vanderezzer FC in the first semi-finals, in the Lagos derby as both teams have been terrorizing NPFL teams in the Championship.

Remo stars will battle Kwara United in the second Semi-Final for a spot in the finals on Friday as both teams prepare for their CAF Confederations engagements. 

Valuejet pre-season tournament has lived up to its billings, as the tournament has been very valuable to teams preparing for the new season, the final comes up on Friday, 3rd  September.
