Tennis legend Serena Williams wants Will Smith forgiven for his infamous Oscar slap.

Speaking to Gayle King on CBS Mornings, she talked about King Richard, the biopic where Smith played her father and won a Best Actor award moments after shocking the world by slapping host Chris Rock and cursing him.

Surprisingly, Williams – who was known for a sometimes volatile temper on the courts – called for compassion and understanding about Smith’s actions.

“I thought it was such an incredible film, and I feel that there was an incredible film (honored) after that with Questlove that kind of was overshadowed,” Williams told King. She was referring to the Summer of Soul, which won Questlove a Best Documentary award.

“I also feel that I’ve been in a position where I’ve been under a lot of pressure and made a tremendous amount of mistakes,” Williams said. “I’m the kind of person that’s like, I’ve been there, I’ve made a mistake, it’s not the end of the world. We’re all imperfect and we’re all human, and let’s just be kind to each other. And I think that’s often forgotten a lot.”

Williams was in attendance at the Oscars with her sister, Venus Williams, to witness Smith’s moment, an action that still reverberates a year later. Smith is banned from the Oscars and its events for the next decade, and he and Rock have not publicly talked about the incident. Smith has claimed he has reached out, but been rebuffed by Rock.

Meanwhile, Lakeisha Williams found herself on the wrong side of the law when she was pulled over by the police in Palm Beach County. Law enforcement claimed that he was driving her huge freight liner on the highway, leading to the 44-year-old receiving two tickets for having expired tags and defective equipment, including no working lights on the trailer.

According to details obtained by The Sun US, Williams was driving a 2004 Freightliner Columbia Conventional with a 2006 utility trailer - both with expired tags whose combined worth amounted to 100,000 dollars used.

Despite incurring half a million dollars in debt the stepmom of tennis phenomenon Serena Williams has launched a new venture Abda's Trucking and Transportation LLC, which is registered at a basic three-bed home in Georgia.

Williams' business partner David Goodwin has also been known to show off the trucks on his Facebook page.

Williams, who is still married to legendary tennis coach Richard Williams, the father of Serena and Venus, has previously admitted to cheating her husband of his motorhome and even cashing in his social security without his permission, raking in hundreds of thousands behind his back.

The pair are in the midst of a messy six-year-long divorce battle.

What's more, Williams is also being pursued by creditors who have been taking legal recourse to claim the amounts Williams owes for a previously failed trucking business.
