Aston Villa are interested in bringing former loan star Tammy Abraham back to the club, with Roma reportedly willing to listen to offers for the England international.

Abraham swapped the Premier League for Serie A last season after struggling for first team action at Chelsea.

The 25-year-old smashed several goal-scoring records last campaign, becoming the highest-ever English scorer in a Serie A season and Roma's most prolific debutant of all time.

Abraham scored 27 goals in 53 games last year as Roma won the Europa Conference League, the club's first European honour since 1961.

Roma had considered Abraham 'non-transferable', but have now changed their position after the forward's loss of form this season, according to Calciomercato.

Aston Villa reportedly hold a 'concrete interest' bringing the forward back to the Premier League, with Chelsea unlikely to activate a £68million buy-back clause, double the fee Roma paid for his services.

Abraham has scored just three times in fifteen Serie A appearances this season, while he has only a single goal in the Europa League.

The forward had previously been a crowd favourite at the Stadio Olimpico, but was booed off when he was substituted during a 1-1 draw with Torino earlier this month.

Roma boss Jose Mourinho had publicly questioned Abraham's performances, suggesting he had been distracted by the World Cup in Qatar.

Abraham was left out of the England squad, with Gareth Southgate recalling Callum Wilson and Marcus Rashford as forward options, as support to Harry Kane.

The Roma striker has won 11 caps for England and scored three goals, while he has tended to be Harry Kane's back-up in attack over the last year.

Abraham previously enjoyed a successful loan spell at Villa Park, scoring 26 goals for the Midlands outfit to help secure promotion back to the Premier League in 2019.

The forward would add increased firepower to new Aston Villa manager Unai Emery's squad.

Fellow England internationals Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins are among Emery's current striking options, with the pair having scored six and three goals respectively this campaign.
