The 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, Premiership season returns after 3 weeks of season midseason break on Wednesday, 8th February 2023 with exciting results across different match centers as the second stanza begins with week 7 matches.
In group A, the clash of the top two queens of the group ended in a statement as the host's Delta Queens were held by Bayelsa Queens to a 1-1 at the Asaba Township Stadium.
Mercy Omokwo scored for Delta Queens while Etim Edidiong’s equalized for the league holders.
In Aba, Nasarawa Amazons defeated Abia Angels by 2-1 to make it a back-to-back defeat Ior the Aba-based team in the hands of the Amazons.
Dominance Odubanjo and Josephine Mattias scored the two goals for the Amazons while Abia Angel's consolation prize came in a bit too late from the boots of Nmesoma Ibe.
Robo Queens completed a double over Adamawa Queens of Yola, with Esther Onyenezide's peace as the Lagos team overran their host by 2-1.
At the Lanreleke stadium in Osogbo, Osun Babes ended a five-game losing streak with a 2-0 victory over Heartland Queens.
Goals in each half by Rebecca Omodele and Bolaji Olamide decided the match for Osun babes as they continue the relegation struggle on a positive note in the opening match of the second stanza.
Rivers Angels were held by Royal Queens to a 1-1 draw at the University of Port Harcourt stadium.
Aguadze Juanita gave the host the lead scoring in the 36th minute from the penalty spot.
Azeezat Obadun wrestled a point for the Warri-based team with late minute equalizer.
Confluence Queens will host Ibom Angels at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja on Friday.

As it stands, Delta remains top of Group A with 17 points ahead of Bayelsa Queens (12 points), Rivers Angels (10 points), Heartland Queens (8 points), Naija Ratels FC (7 points), Osun Babes (6 points), and Royal Queens (5 points).
While Nasarawa Amazons Edo Queens is at the top of Group B with 13 points while the Benin City-based side has 12 points.
They are followed by Abia Angels (10 points), Confluence Queens (10 points), FC Robo Queens (10 points), Adamawa Queens (9 points), and Ibom Angels (3 points) follow the top two teams in that order.
