There is a major injury headache for Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid, with Toni Kroos suffering a muscular issue.

The German missed training this Thursday and is going for further tests, but it doesn't look good.

This is according to Cadena Cope, who explain that Kroos is almost certainly ruled out against Real Sociedad on Saturday night, while he is also a doubt for the Paris Saint-Germain return leg at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu next Wednesday.

If the German isn't able to play against the Ligue 1 leaders, that is an especially significant blow for Los Blancos because Casemiro is also suspended for that game.

Ancelotti had already suggested that Kroos could play the Casemiro role, with Fede Valverde and Luka Modric flanking him, but now the Italian might have to look for alternative solutions, such as Eduardo Camavinga.

The midfielder has been a near-constant starter in 2021/22, ever since he started the season late after a summer injury.

He has managed to play 29 games across all competitions and has missed just one game - the 3-0 win over Alaves - since returning against Sheriff Tiraspol in the second Champions League game of the campaign.

Meanwhile, March 9 is a date marked on Sergio Ramos' calendar as it signals the day when Paris Saint-Germain will travel to play Real Madrid at the stadium which was once his home, the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

The defender was forced to limp out of training due to a calf injury on January 30 and is now working on recovery.

In principle, he is ruled out for the game in Spain, but the man himself is determined to do all he can to return in time for the fixture.

French press say that the former Real Madrid captain man is incredibly motivated by the opportunity to play against his former club.

Ramos has always stated that you never give up, and that has been crucial for him as injuries have plagued his first season in Paris.

He signed for the club already injured last summer and has played only five games for the club to date.
