The Nigerian contingents in Rangers, Joseph Aribo, Calvin Bassey and Leon Balogun all return an average performance as Rangers suffer a 1-2 loss to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership match played on Sunday afternoon.

The trio were part of the Super Eagles that failed the 2022 World Cup test against Ghana during the international break.

They return to their club after the debacle to log in ninety minutes of play in the high pressured derby at Old Firm but they could not save Rangers from going down at home despite taking the lead early on.

According to the ratings of players as recorded by Daily Record, the majority of Rangers players returned 6/10 which includes the Super Eagles with specific blame on Leon Balogun's slow reaction which gives Celtics the winning goal.

The website summarised Leon's performance in this:

" More pain for the defender after Nigeria this week missed out on World Cup qualification. Will regret not putting his header out of the danger zone as Carter-Vickers put Postecoglou’s team ahead."

Calvin Bassey was hailed for his great effort leading to the Ger's only goal as he "sent a terrific ball for Kent in behind the Hoops defence as Ramsey put Gers in front.

But, he was singled out for blame as one of the reasons for the Celtic equalising goal for allowing Callum MacGregor to wriggle into the box which led to the equaliser.

Joe Aribo posted another average performance as his performance was described as being " short on end product" as he failed to the ruthlessness needed to convert his nice touches into profitable ventures for the home team.

The result left Rangers six points behind Celtic at the top with six matches and a match away to Celtic, the Gers may need more than a miracle to unseat Celtic at the summit and retain the league they won in flying colour last season.

Meanwhile, Rangers Fans Bombarded the penalty area of Celtic with broken glass to cause a delay of the second half as Rangers lost aground in the title race with a 1-2 defeat at home.
