Rangers, Kano Pillars coaches identify officiating and insecurity as threats to NPFL

The head coach of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Enugu Rangers, Abdul Makiaba has stated that win at all cost is the bane behind the poor growth been recorded in Nigeria’s most prestigious club side football competition.

Maikaba speaking after his side loss 1-0 against Kano Pillars in NPFL Match Day 35 at Sani Abacha stadium in Kano said “ most teams want to win at all cost.’ 

“The league this season started so well, in the first round, in the second round there are so many issues, so many problems.

“LMC should look inwards to improve the league next season.”

Maikaba who highlighted on the issues bedeviling the league pointed out that the issues borders on poor security provision and bad officiating both constituted some of the major constraints impeding the development of the Nigeria Professional Football League. NPFL.

Also, Kano Pillars technical Adviser, Salisu Yusuf agreed with his Rangers counterpart, he indicted Central Referee , Buhari Bawa for the 1-0 defeat suffered by his lads against Nassarawa United last Sunday at the New stadium in Jos, Plateau state

The soft spoken tactician speaking in an aftermath of the Nigeria professional Football League Match Day 37 told sports writers that the centre referee from Gombe, Bawa compounded the woes ofPillars , he made the call that invoked the painful loss suffered by his relegation threatened side last weekend.

Salisu alleged that the goal scored by the host was questionable “ the ball was out of play and was brought back and scored and the match official accepted it.”

He lamented that the abuse of powers by central referees is undermining the combine efforts of players and club officials in the league.

He said “ it is disheartening , how one man will decide the fate of the majority at his own behest and terms throwing caution to the winds to the detriment of the game.” Salisu bemoaned.

Speaking of the relegation threats roving over his side, he resorted to being philosophical stating that the team will continue to fight to the end wires, saying “ in football anything can happen
