Pique denies Shakira has turned down marriage proposal
Pique revealed he is happy with the state of his relationship and has no desire to propose.
Barcelona legend Gerard Pique was forced to deny girlfriend Shakira rejected his marriage proposal after he was questioned by Gary Neville.
The Sky Sports pundit interviewed his former Manchester United team-mate in his latest edition of The Overlap.
And in his quickfire round Neville asked Pique why he is yet to marry singer Shakira, despite having two kids and a relationship of 11 years with the Colombian.
Pique revealed he is happy with the state of his relationship and has no desire to propose.
The Barcelona star told The Overlap: "No, I'm not married. It's her mentality.
"I like it how we are right now. We have two kids, nine and seven right now. We work good as a couple."
Neville then joked Pique has been rejected in his proposal for marriage, to which the Spaniard put his hands up and said: "No no no I would tell you, I don't have no problem.
"But it's not the case."
Shakira previously hinted at marriage acting as a dangling carrot for Pique to be the best partner he can be.
She said in an interview with 60 minutes: "I don't want [Gerard] to see me as the wife. I'd rather him see me as his girlfriend.
“It's like a little forbidden fruit, you know?
“I wanna keep him on his toes. I want him to think that anything's possible depending on behaviour.”
