Paris Olympics: D’Tigress looks for second win against France on Wednesday
D’Tigeress of Nigeria are riding the crest of a wave after securing a famous win over Australia on Monday and France will need to be on their guard and maintain the defensive solidarity they showed in their victory against Canada.
France were impressive in the extreme as they kept Canada under lock and key, ultimately winning 74-54 and they take on another team who proved their effectiveness when it came to shutting down their opposition, Nigeria restricting Australia to just 62 points whilst scoring 75 themselves in a massive win not only for themselves, but the entire basketball community in Nigeria.
However, for them to replicate such a good all-round performance three days later won’t be easy and France will be well aware as to the threat that Nigeria pose across the court. With home advantage, the French look like potential medal candidates and should bring their opponents back down to earth with victory here.
