Osimhen's departure from Napoli looks bleak
A darling of European football giants from Spain to England, to Germany to France and even Saudi Arabia, it was cast in stone that Victor Osimhen's transfer from Napoli early in the summer transfer window would be as easy as ABC.
But with the window about to close most of Osimhen's suitors have either moved on with the new bride or they are completely not interested in a relationship again because of his expensive price tag.
Football transfer insider has revealed that one of the few options for Oshimen could be to remain at Napoli disappointed and unhappy this season.
This is following the revelation that Chelsea are the only side showing interest in signing the Nigerian attacker at the moment.
Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca is expected to push for a new No. 9 before the end of the transfer window and Osimhen is reportedly his preferred choice.
Osimhen signed a new contract with the Italian last December but has agreed with the club to leave this summer.
The player reportedly has a €130m release clause in his contract which the Serie A side expects to be exercised to let him go.
The London is Blue podcast, made it clear that Chelsea are the only club actively in the race for Osimhen right now.
“Things are getting a little bit tense at the moment, because, believe it or not, Chelsea are the only active suitor at the moment,
“We should view it separately as something that could happen late in the window,” said Jacobs.
“At that point, Osimhen will be under pressure to make a decision, and if the decision is to stay at Napoli and be unhappy and disappointed, if the only option is a Chelsea loan then Osimhen’s perspective on a temporary move might change.”
Recent reports have suggested that Arsenal also have their eyes on the Nigerian striker this summer.
