Osimhen mentioned in the transfer merry-go-round as Ancelotti reveals why Madrid did not sign him

.
Wantaway striker Victor Osimhen may soon have his wishes granted as his name is being mentioned in a transfer merry-go-round involving three other top players.
According to Sky Sport Italia, there’s an epic striker merry-go-round sending Randal Kolo-Muani to Atletico Madrid, Alvaro Morata to Milan, Victor Osimhen to PSG and Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea to Napoli.
Most of the big clubs seem to be hunting for new centre-forwards this summer and Joshua Zirkzee has been taken out of the equation after Manchester United agreed to pay both the €40m release clause to Bologna and the €15m commission for his agent, which Milan refused to do.
The Rossoneri therefore turned to Morata instead and are confident he will agree the return to Serie A, especially as Atletico Madrid have made no secret of their desire to find other strikers.
Now Sky Sport Italia claims this is part of a remarkable domino effect.
If Morata goes to Milan, then Atletico Madrid will try to replace him with France international Kolo-Muani, who is currently at Paris Saint-Germain.
Then PSG will be able to invest in Osimhen, as Napoli are refusing to sell Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and desperately wants to be rid of the Nigeria international, even for less than the €120m release clause.
Once Napoli sells Osimhen, they can purchase Antonio Conte’s favourite Lukaku from Chelsea.
Corriere dello Sport informs that Napoli aims to keep both Di Lorenzo and Kvaratskhelia, while Osimhen may evaluate a transfer to the Saudi Pro League more seriously if the stalemate continues. Luis Enrique would be happy to bring him to Paris, but his management has different ideas and considers his €130M release clause excessive.
Elsewhere Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has provided an insight into the decision of the club’s transfer team not to sanction a move for Osimhen.
Frontman Osimhen, for his part, has been heavily linked with a move to Spain’s capital on more than one occasion in the past.
Never did this prove more the case than last summer, when Karim Benzema’s departure opened up a glaring hole in Real Madrid’s frontline.
The Nigerian, fresh off leading Napoli to a historic Serie A crown, was in turn tipped as a leading target on the part of Los Blancos.
In the end, however, no such transfer came to fruition.
The Santiago Bernabéu brass opted against even tabling an offer for Osimhen.
Ancelotti has provided an insight into precisely why.
Speaking in an interview with ‘Radio Serie A’, as cited by Area Napoli, Ancelotti, himself a former manager in Napoli, was drawn on the La Liga champions’ alleged interest in the Nigerian goalscorer.
“No, because I think the club thought that Benzema’s absence could be remedied by purchasing Bellingham.”
With a league and Champions League double to show for their efforts last season, it is hard to argue that this did not prove an altogether wise judgment call.
