Team Nigeria medal hopeful at the ongoing Oregon 2022 World Athletics Championships has appealed to Nigerians to pray for her as she starts her quest her a medal in the 100m hurdles which begins Saturday.

In a post on the Social Media Amusan said, ‘I will be competing in the 100m hurdles tomorrow, July 23rd at around 7pm Nigerian time and you can watch live on Supersport Channel 208. 


‘’This will be my 3rd appearance at the World Champs. I was a semifinalist in London 2017, finished 4th in Doha 2019 and by Gods grace I will be on the podium this year. 


‘’Keep me in your prayers and do have a great weekend’’

The 100m hurdles has six heats. The first three of each heat plus the six fastest losers qualify for the semi-final .

Amusan with a season and personal best of 12.41 sec is heat three, draw in lane 2, she is expected to qualify for the semi-final and final slated for Sunday.

Also on Saturday another medal hopeful Ese Brume will compete in the long jump qualifier, she is in group A while the other Nigerian in the mix, Ruth Usoro is in group B.

In the evening Team Nigeria 4x100m quartet will be competing in the finals of the event. They face opposition from Switzerland, Italy, America, Spain, Jamaica, Britain and Germany
