Oliseh doubtful for Flying Eagles semi-final clash against South Africa

Flying Eagles midfielder Divine Oliseh is doubtful for the team’s semi-final clash against South Africa at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations due to concussion protocol.

Oliseh was forced off during Nigeria’s quarter-final victory over Senegal in the 87th minute after suffering a head collision.

The Foster Academy player was replaced by Precious Benjamin.

A CAF medical doctor will now have to certify him fit to play again.

Nigeria will face either South Africa in the last four at the Suez Canal Stadium, Ismailia, on Thursday.

South Africa booked a place in the last four after beating the Democratic Republic of Congo 1-0 in the quarter-final.

The Amajita also earned a berth at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup following the win.

The keenly contested encounter ended 0-0 after 90 minutes.

Thabang Mahlangu scored the decisive goal in the 105th minute.

Egypt survived a late scare to send Ghana packing from the tournament with a 1-0 win.

Morocco edged debutants Sierra Leone 1-0 in extra time to book their place in the semi-finals.

The first semi-final will see Morocco take on Egypt. The game will be played May 15 at 9pm local time.

Nigeria booked their spot after eliminating fellow West Africans Senegal. The game ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, before the Flying Eagles won the ensuing penalty shoot-out.
