Okoli is confident Leicester City will overcome a poor start to the season
Goals either side of half-time from Amadou Onana and Jhon Durán put Villa in control at King Power Stadium on Saturday, although City rallied and were unfortunate not to take at least a point after Facundo Buonanotte's late strike.
It was a game which saw Okoli make his full Premier League debut for the Club and the Italian is optimistic that things will improve for Steve Cooper's men in the weeks and months to come.
The major moments from Leicester City's Premier League reverse to Aston Villa on Saturday.
"It was a very good performance for all of us but we are very disappointed with the result," the former Atalanta centre-back said. "We created a lot. For the second goal, we were very disappointed with that, but we are on the right way.
"We’ll keep working and I know it’ll be a great season. Better things will come, for sure. We are very secure of that. We’ll work on the next one now. The good things we did today, I know will be better."
The result will not dim the significance of the occasion for Okoli, experiencing a career landmark on his English top-flight bow, but he is hoping to toast further appearances with points on the board.
"It was an incredible feeling and an incredible debut," he added. "I’m very happy to make it here at King Power Stadium with all my teammates. I’m very happy but also disappointed with the result. It was everything I expected [from the Premier League].
"A very good intensity, a very strong game, and I’m very proud to make my debut here and hopefully for more games."
