Remo Stars coach Daniel Ogunmodede has described as 'unfortunate', the manner Remo Stars ended the first stanza of the NPFL abridged league as the team lost to Nasarawa United by 2-0 on Monday to wrap up the first stanza of the seas on a losing note.

Goals from Joshua John and Emmanuel Ogbole scored in each half condemned Remo Stars to their 3rd loss in the last five matches as the team failed to win any of the last five matches after winning their first four matches without conceding any goal.

"This isn't a favorable result for us. Nasarawa United got early chances and took advantage of them, while we didn't take ours when we had them". Ogunmodede fumes.

However, the coach blamed his boys for not effectively carrying enough "carrying out instructions, neither did they show enough dedication and enthusiasm until we conceded those goals."

The results kept Remo Stars in the fifth position of the nine teams in the group, two positions from the top 3 which guarantees a Super Six finish with 14 points, 9 points behind the group leader Bendel Insurance, scoring only eight goals and conceding nine goals.

Coach Daniel Ogunmodede looked back on how Remo Stars started the season like a house on fire winning their first four games but in a sharp change of fortune, the team failed to win their last five and concluded that its unfortunately as the team missed an opportunity to finish the first stanza among the top two.

"We are conscious of the position we are in now, not good for a team like ours. We had the opportunity to end the first stanza among the top two teams, but it's unfortunate this is where we are."

"It's not a good way for us to end the first stanza of the league campaign, but we take it in good faith with the hope to turn around the situation during the second half of the league season," Ogunmodede concluded.

Nasarawa United's change of fortune in the league continues as the Coach Bala Nikiyu boys are now out relegation zone temporarily, piling pressures on Shooting Stars and others in the lower run of group A.
