The Nigeria Football Federation have confirmed former international Finidi George as one of the Assistant Coaches that would be working with the incoming Super Eagles coach.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the NFF, Finidi was named as Assitant coach 2 in the new-look Super Eagles technical bench already taking shape.

"The NFF Executive Committee has also approved the recommendation of the Technical & Development Sub-Committee for the new Head Coach to work with Coach Salisu Yusuf (whenever he is available from Super Eagles B/U23 Team duties) as 1st Assistant.

"Former Nigeria international Finidi George will be 2nd Assistant, with Usman Abdallah as 3rd Assistant. Eboboritse Uwejamomere will be the Match Analyst and another former Nigeria international, Ike Shorounmu will be the Goalkeepers’ Trainer."

Finidi, presently is handling the Nigeria Professional Football League side, Enyimba.

Though the former Ajax star has had to endure a bumpy ride with the People's Elephant in his first season, many see him as a worthy addition to the national team.

Already, the NFF has assured that a new Head Coach for the Super Eagles will be announced and officially unveiled once the processes for his engagement and contract signing are concluded.

A handful of expatriate coaches have been linked with the Super Eagles coaching role; including ex-Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde, France World Cup-winning coach Laurent Blanc and Jose Paseiro among others.
