NPFL: Super Eagles coach in the stand as Pillars beat Rangers in Kano

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle was in the stands as Kano Pillars staged a comeback to defeat holders Rangers 2-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.
Rangers silenced the home crowd when Bashir Usman converted from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute.
However, experienced midfielder Rabiu Ali levelled the score for Pillars with another penalty three minutes before half-time.
Jerry Alex secured all three points for Pillars with the winner on the hour mark.
Rangers’ technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, said his team need to move on from their defeat to Kano Pillars.
The Flying Antelopes suffered a 2-1 loss to Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.
Ilechukwu expressed optimism that the team can finish in a respectable position by the end of the season.
“We lost, and we have to go back home and start working, which is very important for us,” Ilechukwu stated in a post-match interview.
“We have hope that we will finish strong at the end of the season.”
Rangers will face Akwa United next in the league.
In Ikenne, Remo Stars extended their lead at the top with a narrow 1-0 home victory over Plateau United.
Samson Olasupo netted the decisive goal 14 minutes from time.
