NPFL: Sunshine Stars ready for Yenegoa tournament as Remo Stars begins preparation Champions League

Sunshine Stars technical adviser, Kennedy Boboye, has said the upcoming pre-season tournament in Yenagoa will provide him the opportunity to assess his team ahead of the 2024-25 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The tournament will run from Monday, August 12 to Sunday, August 18.

“The preseason competition will be strictly used to assess the newly recruited players. We have received some new players in our team from other clubs, so we are going to Bayelsa to test the players,” Boboye told Sunshine Stars media.

“The tournament is like a build-up for us; it’s not a must-win for our side, but if it comes, we will take it.

“The most important thing for us is to see how we can blend the new and old players for a better performance.

“Even though we started a bit late, we are optimistic about a better season; we have good players who have joined us from other teams, and we are going to use this preseason tournament to see how we are going to incorporate them perfectly into the team in line with our philosophy

Meanwhile, Remo Stars have begun sale of tickets for their CAF Champions League against AS FAR of Morocco, according Daily Post.

The Sky Blue Stars will host AS FAR in the first leg of the preliminary round tie at the Remo Stars Stadium on Sunday, August 18.

Remo Stars announced on social media.

“Tickets for our CAF Champions League home game against ASFAR of Morocco in Ikenne are now exclusively available for sale online,” Remo Stars wrote on X.

The reverse fixture will be held a week later in Morocco.

It would be recalled that AS FAR eliminated Remo Stars in the competition last season.
