NPFL: Matchday three fixtures rescheduled, Bendel and 3SC game now slated for October 2
The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has rescheduled the matchday three fixture involving Bendel Insurance and Shooting Stars.
The match that was initially scheduled to be played this weekend has been moved to Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
The game will take place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
The reason for the postponement wasn’t stated by the NPFL.
Bendel Insurance has recorded one point from the opening two fixtures, while Shooting has garnered two points from two games. The remaining matches are expected to be played this weekend except for Rangers and Enyimba fixtures which have been postponed due to their continental engagements.
NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owunmi in a statement also said three matches will now hold on Sunday, September 22, which will see Sunshine host Abia Warriors at Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu Ode, Kano Pillars entertain leaders Remo Stars at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina, and defending champions Enugu Rangers take on Bayelsa United at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Three of the remaining seven fixtures of matchday 3 scheduled for Wednesday, October 2, will be televised live, with fans expected to watch in the comfort of their homes the clash between Kwara United and Ikorodu City at Kwara Sports Complex, Ilorin, the face-off between Nasarawa United at Lafia Township Stadium, Lafia, and the fixture involving Plateau United and El-Kanemi Warriors at Jos International Stadium in Jos.
The other fixtures will see Heartland host Katsina United at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, Lobi Stars entertain Rivers United at Lafia Township Stadium, Lafia, and Enyimba entertain neighbours Akwa United in Aba.
