The League Management Company, LMC has disqualified two Remo Stars from further participation in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL ) season.

In a release by the LMC on Friday, the league organising body cancelled the registration of forward, Andy Okpe and defender Isah Alli.

The LMC cited irregularities in the registration document of the players which upon review failed to provide critical details about their status.

The statement reads:

"Remo Stars duo of Isah Ali and  Andy Okpe have been disqualified with immediate effect from featuring in the NPFL following the cancellation of their registration."

The cancellation of both players' registration comes on the back of the review of their documents which failed to provide critical details about their status. "

The two players were the subject of a match-fixing scandal that rocked the Ghana Premier League match between Inter Allies and Ashanti Gold as the players played in the match for Inter Allies in the 2020/2021 season.

Andy and Isah were eventually found guilty as they failed to appear before an investigative pan and were subsequently given a worldwide ban of 24 months from the game.

The two players have been key for Remo Stars in the league as Remo Stars are in a position to ink a continental ticket at the end of the season.

Andy Okpe has ten goals to his credit, while Isah Alli's performance caught the attention of the handlers of the Super Eagles.

He was invited for the upcoming friendly matches between Mexico and Ecuador but he has since been removed from the squad by the Nigeria Football Federation due in compliance with the Worldwide imposed on the player.
