NPFL: Kwara United positive about survival as Lobi Stars ends winless streak
Kwara United technical adviser Kabir Sulaiman Dogo is optimistic his side will escape relegation despite the defeat to Plateau United.
The Harmony Boys suffered a 2-0 loss to Plateau United in Jos on Sunday.
Dogo believed that the team could still pick up valuable points in their remaining three matches.
“We are still on course as far as the league is concerned; we are looking for survival,” he said in a post-match interview.
“We are hopeful of getting good results in our away game against Lobi Stars. We are going back to work on ourselves ahead of the Kano Pillars match.”
Kwara United dropped to 13th position on the table with 45 points.
They are two points above the relegation zone.
Elsewhere, Lobi Stars are delighted to end their barren run in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The Makurdi club defeated Remo Stars 3-2 at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.
It was their first win in five league outings.
Lobi Stars believed that the win would serve as a morale booster towards achieving their objective.
“We have ended our winless streak in style by defeating Remo Stars at the Lafia City Stadium,” the club stated on X.
“This much-needed win provided a significant morale boost for us as a team and our dear supporters, showcasing a determined and improved performance after a challenging run of games.”
Lobi Stars remain in fifth place on the NPFL table.
The former NPFL champions have recorded 55 points from 35 games this season.
