NPFL: Kwara United dims Shooting Stars as Remo state readiness for Rangers challenge
Shooting Stars lost for the first time in nine league outings after falling to a 2-0 defeat against Kwara United in Ilorin on Wednesday.
Kabiru Muhammed and Ojifinni Abdullahi scored the goals for Kwara United.
Shooting Stars remain in second position on the table despite the defeat, eight points adrift of leaders Remo Stars.
Kwara United moved up to eighth position with 32 points from 23 games.
Meanwhile, Remo Stars technical adviser, Daniel Ogunmodede says his team will prepare adequately for their next league match against Rangers.
The Sky Blue Stars will lock horns with Rangers in a matchday 24 fixture at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday.
Ogunmodede stated that his team will approach the game with a positive mindset.
“No game is difficult and no game is simple for us. It depends on what we come across in the game,” Ogunmodede told Remo Stars media.
“Some games you expected will be difficult, they come so cheap likewise some that you think might be easy come tough, the moment in games is a decider of most of the actions it doesn’t matter the team we play but the moment in the game.
“The game will decide itself. We will prepare as a team, we just hope we get it right in the game.”
Also, the NPFL has announced a new date for the matchday 24 fixture between Nasarawa United and Remo Stars.
The encounter, which was initially scheduled for Sunday, 16 February, will now take place on Saturday, 15 February 2024.
The game will be played at the Lafia City Stadium at 4 pm.
Also, the matchday 24 game between Kano Pillars and Abia Warriors has been rescheduled for Saturday, 15 February 2024.
The encounter will be held at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
The fixture between Enyimba and Rivers United will be played at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Saturday, 15 February.
