NPFL: Kwara United and Enyimba clash moved from February 5 to January 25

The Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, has rescheduled the matchday 16 fixture between Kwara United and Enyimba.

The game, initially slated for Wednesday, February 5, will now be played on Monday, January 25, 2025.

The encounter will take place at the Kwara State Sports Complex in Ilorin.

Kwara United’s second-stanza fixture against Shooting Stars has also been postponed indefinitely.

The NPFL Chief Operating Officer, Davidson Owumi, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

Owumi urged the club’s supporters to remain patient and await further updates.

The second stanza of the league will commence on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

Elsewhere, the El-Kanemi Warriors Stadium in Maiduguri is currently undergoing renovation ahead of the second stanza of the 2024/25 season of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

The stadium serves as the home ground for El-Kanemi Warriors.

Due to the renovation work, Aliyu Zubairu’s team has relocated their training sessions to the pitch of the College of Agriculture on Muna Road.

The renovation focuses on key areas, including the stadium pitch, floodlight electrification, scoreboard, and dressing rooms.

El-Kanemi Warriors are set to face Rangers in their first home game of the second stanza.

Also, Katsina United forward, Sadiq Abubakar Usman, is set to undergo trials with Egyptian giants Zamalek.

The Chanji Boys announced in a statement released by the club’s media officer, Nasir Gide.

According to the statement, the trial is being sponsored by the club’s chairman, Dan’lami Rimi.

The club also revealed that if Usman does not secure a spot at Zamalek, he will have opportunities to trial with two other Egyptian clubs.

Part of the statement read: “Sadiq Abubakar Usman (Daddy Matic) of Katsina United Football Club has left for a trial at Zamalek FC in Egypt.

“The club, led by Chairman Kabir Dan’lami Rimi, is sponsoring the player, who is one of the state’s homegrown recruits into the team.

“During his trial at Zamalek FC in Egypt, Sadiq Abubakar Usman, aka Daddy Matic, has the option of trialling with two other clubs in Egypt if he does not make it at Zamalek.”
