NPFL: Kano Pillars faces 3SC players as Ikorodu host Remo Stars in Lagos

Premier League side Ikorodu City have expressed their determination to record victory in the South West derby with Remo Stars.

The Oga Boys will battle with Remo Stars at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Sunday. The game will kick-start at 5:30 pm.

Both teams will be meeting for the first time in the Nigeria Premier Football League(NPFL).

Ikorodu City said they are ready to give their all in the game.

“We are all in for victory and we are ready to give it our all!,” Ikorodu City wrote on X.

“Let’s go Oga Boys, This Sunday, DERBY SUNDAY against Remo Stars!.”

Elsewhere, Kano Pillars technical adviser, Usman Abdallah has expressed concern over the absence of key players for his team’s matchday 17 clash with Shooting Stars.

The Sai Masu Gida side will miss the services of Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, Shehu Abdullahi, Zulkifilu Muhammed, and Sudais Ali Baba in the game.

Rabiu Ali, Nelson Abiam and Aminu Adam Sani will also miss the game due to national team engagement.

Defender Habibu Yakubu is also ruled out due to card accumulation.

Abdallah is however optimistic of a strong performance from his young squad.

“Playing without our key players such as Ahmed Musa, Shehu Abdullahi, Rabiu Ali, and others is a big miss,” Abdallah stated in a pre-match interview.

“It’s not easy for any team, including us. However, I believe the younger players have learned a lot from their seniors, and this is their chance to show their quality.”
