NPFL: Kano Pillars extends Abdallah suspension again

Kano Pillars have extended the suspension of their technical adviser, Usman Abdallah, by one more game.

Abdallah was initially suspended until after the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, Matchday 27 fixture against Rangers United.

The tactician is now expected to return after their Matchday 28 match against Kwara United in Ilorin.

Abdallah stated that the suspension is aimed at easing tension among supporters.

Abdallah was suspended following an alleged altercation with a section of the Kano Pillars supporters’ club after a Matchday 21 home draw against El-Kanemi Warriors.

“I’ve been told that the suspension has been extended by one more game, which is this weekend’s away match against Kwara United,” said Abdallah.

“I was also informed that this decision is aimed at further easing tensions among the supporters’ club.”

Elsewhere, Bendel Insurance chairman Philip Shaibu has revealed the reason behind the team’s recent impressive run of form.

The Benin Arsenal have lost only twice in their last seven league outings.

Insurance currently occupies ninth position on the table with 38 points.

“Bendel Insurance have been boosted by the restoration of their welfare packages, as well as the motivation from the NPFL’s points deduction following crowd violence in our game against Kano Pillars FC in November 2024,” Shaibu reveals.

“We appreciate the NFF Appeals Committee for their ruling, as Bendel Insurance maintain one of the best security networks during matches.

“We are a very disciplined club. What happened against Kano Pillars was an unfortunate incident, and we have taken the necessary measures to ensure it never happens again.”

Bendel Insurance will face league leaders Remo Stars this weekend in Benin City.
