There seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel for Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries(MFM) FC after the Lagos-based side lost 3-0 to Gombe United on Thursday in one of the outstanding matchday 10 fixtures.
MFM's hope of bouncing back from rock-bottom hit the rock once again after they were overpowered by Gombe United on Thursday evening with the host drawing the first blood barely four minutes into the game through Abduazeez Yusuf.
The visitors double their effort in a bid to rally back but failed to make it count as Gombe United rearguards proved impregnable.
But it was the host who doubled their lead through Amin Adams in the 41st minutes of the match. Gombe United then increased the tally to three in the 42nd minutes to finish the first half with three goals lead.
It was the host who turned up the heat when the game resumed in the second half but none of the sides managed to record any goal as Gombe compounded MFM woes in the league this season.
The win pushed Gombe to 15th on the log with 12 points from 10 matches while MFM continue to sink into relegation morass after it recorded its 8th loss of the season to occupy the bottom spot on the table with six points.
It remains to be seen how MFM intends to stop their poor run in the league this season after the club finished 10th on the table last season.
