NPFL: Akwa United appoint Boboye as new technical adviser
Boboye won the Nigeria Premier Football League title with Plateau United and Akwa United in the past.
Veteran coach Kennedy Boboye has been appointed the new technical adviser of Nigeria Premier Football League side, Akwa United. Boboye was unveiled by the club on Thursday.
The 50-year-old takes over from Mohammed Babaganaru, who resigned from his position last month after a poor start to the campaign.
Akwa United has managed one win from their last five games.
The Promise Keepers ended the first round in 19th position.
Boboye won the Nigeria Premier Football League title with Plateau United and Akwa United in the past.
Elsewhere, Rivers United General manager, Okey Kpalukwu, believes that with togetherness the team can achieve their goal for the season.
Kpalukwu said that the management plans to make the club a force to be reckoned with in football.
The Pride of Rivers chief disclosed this in his New Year message to the supporters of the club.
“I am confident that together, we will continue to work towards achieving our goals and making Rivers United FC a force to be reckoned with in the football world,” Kpalukwu stated in the message.
Rivers United currently occupy the second position in the league table with 34 points from 19 matches.
The former league champions will battle with Plateau United when the second stanza resumes next month.
