NPFL: Abia Warriors take positives from defeat by Remo Stars as Tornadoes return to Kotangora

Abia Warriors Technical Adviser, Imama Amakpakabo, has urged the club supporters not to panic after their disappointing start to the 2024-25 campaign.

The Umuahia club suffered a 2-0 home defeat against Remo Stars on Sunday.

Amakpakabo assured the fans that the team would make up for the lost points.

“We have more matches to go in the league and we shouldn’t be pressing the panic button after one game,” Amakpakabo told Abia Warriors media.

“The supporters need to believe and key into our plans for the season.

“We need to rally around the players and not condemn them.”

Meanwhile, the Bako Kontagota Memorial Stadium, Minna has been approved to host matches in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

The stadium is the home ground of the NPFL side, Niger Tornadoes.

Niger Tornadoes last played at the ground in 2022.

This was to allow renovation to be carried out on the playing surface, match officials’ dressing rooms, toilets, television camera stands, and other upgrades.

Niger Tornadoes adopted the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna as their temporary home ground last season.

They will take on Nasarawa United in their next league game on the ground.
