NPFL: Abia Warriors and Heartland start preparation for the 2024/25 season

Abia Warriors have started preparation for the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The Umuahia club embarked on a short break at the end of last season.
The players met the new head coach, Imama Amapakabo on the first day of training.
Amapakabo returned to the club for a second stint earlier this month.
Abia Warriors are expected to unveil their new signings later this week.
The club managed to escape relegation from the NPFL last season.
They lost 2-0 to El-Kanemi Warriors in the final of the Federation Cup.
Also, Nigeria National League (NNL) outfit, Heartland has intensified preparations for the new season.
The Naze Millionaires started the build-up to the new season with an open screening for relatively unknown players on Monday.
The open screening is being conducted under seasoned coaches.
The selected players will train with the retained players and some invited players for the second phase of the team’s preparation for the new season.
The open screening which is currently taking place at the practice pitch of the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri will end on Saturday.
The Owerri club was relegated from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season.
