NPFL: 3SC demolish Pillars in Kano as Ilechukwu bemoan Ranger's defeat in Katsina.

Kano Pillars have again tasted yet another defeat as they fell to a 2-1 loss to visiting Shooting Stars of Ibadan (3SC) at the Sani Abacha stadium, Kano.

The matchday 29 fixture saw the home team kicking off the game on a very good note as legendary Rabiu Alli had scored just within two minutes following an assist from Ibrahim Mustapha Yuga.

Buoyed by the early goal, Pillars maintained pressure but were unable to increase their lead as the first half ended 1-0.

At the restart of the game, 3SC put themselves back in it through Taiye Muritala on 48 minutes to make it 1-1.

Following that goal, the visitors took the game to their hosts as they searched for the winning goal.

When it all seemed the game would end in a draw, Christian Pyagbara had better ideas as he scored in the 94th minute to stun the home side who succumbed to their 12th loss of the season.

With this result, Pillars remained 8th with 41 points while Shooting Stars moved up to 6th with 46 points.

Meanwhile, Enugu Rangers lead the table with 51 points but lead second-placed Lobi Stars who are on the same points with a superior goal difference.

Meanwhile, Rangers technical adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu has branded his team’s performance in their 4-3 defeat to Katsina United as “not acceptable”.

Ilechukwu expressed his dissatisfaction over the goals conceded by his team.

The defeat ends the Flying Antelopes ' unbeaten run in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

He, however, promised to work on the lapses ahead of their Oriental derby clash against Abia Warriors.

“I think it was a great game for both teams,” he told NPFL Media.

“Scoring three goals in an away game is not an easy one but conceding four goals is not acceptable in football.

“I am so sad about that, but we can only move on as the game is gone.

“All we need to do is to psyche the boys up, identify the challenging area, and make the corrections going into our next game.”
