Barring any last minutes hitches, Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) will today name Jose Peseiro as Super Eagles' new technical adviser.
It would be recalled that 234sportsng.com had reported on Monday that NFF has concluded plans to name a new gaffer this week. But fresh facts from Abuja revealed that all is set for Peseiro to take over the reign as Super Eagles' new gaffer.
After months of intrigues and a war of words between Sports Minister, Sunday Dare and NFF bigwigs, both parties have come to an amicable agreement to hire the Portuguese after he was initially rejected by Sports Ministry on the ground that other suitors were not given the same plain level field in the course of the interview.
234sportsng.com impeccable source revealed that NFF had to conduct a fresh interview with Laurent Blanc, Ernesto Valverde and Philip Cocu via zoom
but ended up picking Peseiro ahead of others.
The reason behind the choice of the former Venezuelan coach may not be unconnected with the aforementioned trio's resolve to demand a pay rise after they also stated in clear terms that they won't be spending most of their time in Nigeria.
But Peseiro was ready to accept the proposed 50,000 dollars monthly salary out of which he is expected to pay his two assistants. He is also ready to reside in Nigeria to comb for talents in the league.
" NF had to conduct fresh interviews with Cocu, Blanc and Valverde via zoom but these three coaches are demanding more pay after they said it won't be possible to reside in Nigeria.
" That means Peseiro will eventually get the job ahead of them because he is ready to live here and discover players," 234sportsng.com decent source said.
