Osimhen Transfer news

Manchester City are reportedly keen on the Napoli frontman despite having Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez in their squad.

City have reportedly contacted Napoli about the availability of Victor Osimhen.

The 24-year-old centre-forward has been in outstanding form this season in Serie A. MEN Sport understands that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is a fan of the striker but the Reds have opted to make Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane their number one transfer target.

While United may be looking at other options, Sky Sports Germany understands that City are willing to swoop in. According to their reporter Florian Plettenberg, the Blues have shown an interest in the striker despite having Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez on their books.

It is not difficult to see why City have reportedly become interested in Osimhen. The Nigeria international has scored 21 goals in 27 appearances for the Serie A leaders.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich  has deemed the Eagles striker too expensive.

During last summer’s transfer window by former Nigeria national team manager Gernot Rohr. He felt that Osimhen would be a decent replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who had made it clear by that point he’d be leaving Bayern for Barcelona.

Just last month, we saw reports from journalist Zach Lowy and Sport Bild that indicated Bayern Munich had interest in Osimhen. Those reports might — or might not — be true, but per new information from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the player would be far too expensive to be a serious topic of discussion. Plettenberg is not reporting that Bayern Munich even has interest in Osimhen, but just that he would cost too much for the club to seriously pursue anyway.

Osimhen’s current market value on Transfermarkt is 70-million euros, but Napoli would more than likely require a fee of over 100-million euros to sign him. Since he has a little over two years left on his contract, Napoli would not want to let him go for anything less than their own asking price and valuation.

Plettenberg also reports that Chelsea FC, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester United are all interested in signing him.
