Loquacious Cassano and Ronaldo’s sister in a war of words
Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister, Elma Aveiro, has hit out at former Italian player, Antonio Cassano for his comments on the Al Nassr star.
Cassano had recently slammed Ronaldo, saying the Portuguese does know how to play football.
Cassano said he does not care whether the Portugal captain scores 3000 career goals.
In response, Ronaldo’s sister claimed that the former Italian forward had no clue how to score 900 goals, while her brother had done it.
Aveiro hit out at Cassano, claiming that the Italian was just a ball boy and never a footballer.
“One wakes up to these things. I don’t know this poor guy. It doesn’t matter, but just one thing for him, he doesn’t know how to score 900 goals,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Imagine if he did. They say he was a footballer. I think they’re wrong, he was certainly a ball boy.”
Ronaldo scored over 900 goals for club and country since his senior debut.
Earlier, Cassano had slammed Ronaldo, saying the Portuguese icon does not know how to play football.
Cassano said this on the Viva El Futbol podcast, insisting that the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Sergio Aguero, Luis Suarez, and Zlatan Ibrahimović are better strikers than the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus star.
He said, via GOAL, “Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t know how to play football. He could score 3000 goals, I don’t give a f*ck.
“[Gonzalo] Higuain, [Sergio] Aguero, [Karim] Benzema, [Robert] Lewandowski, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and [Luis] Suarez knew how to link up with the team.
“They knew how to do a lot of things, unlike Ronaldo whose only objective has always been to score.”
Cassano said in 2022 that the Al Nassr striker should retire when he was relegated to the bench at Manchester United.
