Super Eagles and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman got nine out of possible ten for his man-of-the-match performance in Atalanta's 3-3 draw against Juventus on Sunday.

Pundits described Lookman thus “the star man for Atalanta, Lookman continues to buoy his case for being one of the best players of the season in Serie A.

He has improved La Dea so much as a dynamic attacking presence who scores goals, creates chances, and opens things up for his teammates with his own intelligent runs off the ball.

Lookman scored twice and assisted once, performing at his best in a huge match vs. the Bianconeri.”

Lookman made life hell for Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny as Lookman’s  shot squirm in off his gloves at the near post.

It has been quite the fall from grace for Szczesny, who went from eight consecutive Serie A clean sheets to conceding five goals against Napoli last week.

His plummet in form continued in the opening five minutes of the clash with Atalanta in Turin this evening, as he went to parry Lookman’s strike with his gloves at the near post, but ended up just pushing it into his own net.

Meanwhile, Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini praises Lee Congerton for signing Ademola Lookman from Leicester City last summer: ‘He knew him…’

The 25-year-old joined La Dea for €9m in August and has proved to be worth every penny, having scored 13 goals in 19 appearances.

During his post-match press conference at the Allianz Stadium, attended by Football Italia, Gasperini praised Atalanta director Lee Congerton for signing the Nigeria international and Rasmus Højlund another brilliant summer deal for La Dea.

“This new director, the responsible for scouting, Lee Congerton spotted these players, he knew him [Lookman] because they were together at Leicester City,” said Gasperini.

“He was quick for Højlund, the club made an important investment in this lad. The club bought these two players who have been helping me work well.”
